This is probably going to hold zero interest for anyone who isn't me, sorry.
Since 2004, I've kept a thorough record of all the movies I've watched. The most basic statistic that can be gleaned from this is how many movies I've watched since early 2004: that count currently stands at 2195, although it's worth remembering that what I'm categorizing as movies are occasionally (not very often) entire seasons of TV series.
What years were the movies made?
10 1920s 35 1930s 50 1940s 45 1950s 58 1960s 67 1970s 144 1980s 265 1990s 757 2000s 723 2010s
I was expecting more in the 1940s - I thought I'd watched more "Casablanca" era movies. Then again, I was thinking of "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town" in that same category but it was made in 1936.
How many movies did I watch for the first time each year? (This doesn't include repeat watches of movies I'd already seen.)
127 2004 102 2005 110 2006 212 2007 182 2008 163 2009 177 2010 155 2011 139 2012 107 2013 93 2014 98 2015 127 2016 119 2017 120 2018 104 2019
When you consider I was a tourist in southeast Asia from October 2005 through April 2006, I still watched quite a few movies those years. And what happened in 2007? (Oh right - I was only employed part-time for much of that year.) Or 2014?
And last, the slightly embarrassing list of all the movies I've watched four or more times. (The stats on this are actually quite poor as I'm not good about marking repeat viewings, but this list does look representative.)
